As the title suggests I've (finally!) made a decision regarding whether to go for a demo game of Fornovo or Ravenna!

Obviously, it's going to be Ravenna.

My reasoning? If you're interested you can read about it here:

Kind Regards

Ravenna is a good decision – one of monumental battles of its time, with several rare features – the war-wagons, the artillery barrages, the duel and a couple of unwise decisions regarding the personal safetly (by Foix and Colonna). It was also one of the very few battles where the Spanish and Imperials did not fought on the same side.

The duel between Empser and the Spanish caption could perhaps be modelled with having an effect on morale, though the Landsknechts lost near half their men and still hold the position and later attacked again. On a tragic (or lucky, or loyal, depending on perspective) note, the Landsknechts were likely already ordered back from French service but did not knew about it – apart from Empser and staff, though records vary. However, overall morale seems to have been comparatively high with the infantry on all sides.

What remains is a complete victory of the French with virtually no positive effect for them on the overall war, due to the loss of their leader and no backup plan to pick up the sherds.

what is said, it's that Ravenna was fought mostly by Italians on both sides, and, nontheless the topic is about French, Spaniards, Imperial… etc..

Would you be wiling to share your sources please Paperbattles? I would be very eager to hear what they are(?) as most of what I have read indicate a mix of Spanish, French, German and Italian.
