I had primed some night goblins and dwarves with GW's Wraithbone primer for Contrast Paint and when I brought them into the house following, one of the dogs got blamed for smelling like cat urine!

He was even going to get a bath the odour was so obnoxious.

It was not him. It was the figures.

The contrast primers are of a new formula specifically to work with contrast paints. Given that I've never heard of getting a urine smell from primers before, I think it's a wraithbone thing.

Not just a urine smell, but that of a male cat marking it's territory …

That's the smell of the Grim Dark future!

Maybe it is either toluene or Xylene, or both. Chkout a MSDS for he product info.

Are you sure a cat didn't spray it when you weren't looking? (It only takes them a second…)

I use Wraithbone on occasion and I can assure you it smells nothing like male cat urine. I think you have a bad can.

I bought my first can of Wraithbone primer this week. I'm usually a Krylon Fusion guy.

No cat urine smell whatsoever, just a normal spraypaint smell. FWIW, I'm a veterinarian; I'm a cat urine connoisseur.

Back in the day, GW's brush on primer was called Smelly Primer so maybe it's a callback?
