"So i always see the meme hat the Dark Angels are traitors, but beyond not really obeying the Codex Astartes (which the SWs do anyways) and hunting down their secret traitor brothers what have they done that's bad. Yes they have fought other imperial forces but overall are they to the Imperium's detriment, or are they allies w something they'll go to any lengths to hide? Do they actually care about the imperium ?…"

The Dark Angels absolutely are traitors. The Lion waited to see who would win and then threw his lot in with the emperor but was too late to save him.

When he returned to Caliban the true "loyalists" were with Luther. The Lion attempted to silence them and still forced to hunt down their survivors today.

The Dark Angels are not called the Unforgiven for nothing. Just like there are no wolves on Fenris either.

Its all in your point of view.

Caliban was a chaos infected world. Did it effect the Lion maybe and surely his Knights. The Luther faction did a lot of questionable things in the Hersey and were saved by Chaos.

The Dark Angels just had a dark secret that they hide, but traitor legion nope.

That opportunistic stuff is old lore. The Lion did not sit on the fence in the revised Heresy storyline. Without utterly spoiling the novels, it's enough to say that Sanguinius and the Blood Angels would not have made it to Terra to defend it from Horus without the Lion's direct aid.
