Does anybody make heads for Medieval figures wearing chapel-de-fer aka kettle helmets? These are the helmets with a brim all the way around. Looking to convert a significant number of figures. There are some pictures here: link I see some of the Perry plastic sprues include such heads, but it doesn't seem cost effective to buy an entire box for a few heads. Grelber |

You might also look at Mirliton, but check that the scale size works. They have a lot of variety in helmets, not sure about kettle helms though. |

How many do you need? I might have a few spares lying around. |

Yes, the Fireforge sprues have tonnes of kettle helmet heads. Well, I guess it's only 4 per sprue, but it seemed like a lot when I got them…

I've been thinking about doing a 15th Century Byzantine or Moreote army, and a lot of their troops that were even moderately armored used kettle helmets. At this point, I am looking to see if buying the helmets is even possible. I also need to ask around for a good set of rules for this period that would represent smallish armies, 4,000 to 8,000 men. Buying a separate figure just so I can lop off the heads would soon get expensive if I did it for even half of a 150-200 figure army. So, just at the exploratory stage now, and not entirely sure that, at 67 years, I should start something like this that requires lots of conversions as opposed to doing something normal and easy, like US WWII or ACW.
