…Other Cavalry Firearms as used in Mexico, 1862-1867. I have an passable photo of an example, but better ones, if available, will be appreciated. It's hard to find specific information on the French Cavalry in Mexico as part of "Viva Juarez!: The French Intervention Resource Book," and I throw myself on the mercy of TMP's cognoscenti. Caliber(s), max/effective ranges, overall dimensions, firing rates, etc, all needed to supplement what little I've been able to glean from the Net to date. French pistols used are also in need of better info than I have, and to the extent anyone can add something in regards to what their cavalry carried--and for that matter, their Imperial Mexican co-belligerents--so much better the final work. As before, I promise to give a printed credit to anyone whose response materially moves the project forward. Answers here are welcome, but can be sent to TVAG@att.net as well. Hoping for any help, I continue to be TVAG |

Is this the Mousqueton de Gendarmerie M1842 T ? If so, I have one in my collection. |

Actually, I believe them to be one-and-the same weapon. Any info you may be able to provide would be appreciated, though manufacturer/makers/proof marks/etc, and other ID's are not relevant to my need. Dimensions, weight, etc, listed above are what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance, TVAG |
