" Starring Ben Lamb and directed by female director Swati Bhise (the producer of Dev Patel's The Man Who Knew Infinity), is a sweeping historical tale of women's empowerment, which brings the true story of Lakshmibai (played by Indian star Devika Bhise whom you have watched before in The Accidental Husband and The Man Who Knew Infinity with Dev Pathel and Jeremy Irons), the historic
Queen of Jhansi who fiercely led her army against the British East India Company in the infamous mutiny of 1857. From Queen Elizabeth to Queen Victoria, two-and a half centuries of East India Company rule will be reversed by its attempt to crush India's Warrior Queen. Lakshmibai is known as one of the most prominent figures within the independence movement of India. The passion to free her province from colonial rule led this young woman to become one of the greatest generals of the Indian army and to go down in history for her bravery, strategic acumen, and as a force to reckon with by the East India Company and the British Raj. The Warrior Queen of Jhansi is the story of the woman who lived, fought and died for the freedom of her people."

Should restart an interest in gaming the Mutiny and Sepoy Wars

Sounds like it's going to be a lot more "PC" than historical, but there could be some great action.

Hoping for the best….

Imagine if they could make an epic movie based on Flashman and the Great Game. That would be worth seeing!

This should be a great Bollywood epic, but likely to be about as historically accurate as U-571.

It looks awful. Not even accurate uniforms.

A good subject for a good film. This does not look like one however.

I wonder if the movie shows the massacre of the fifty-six European men, women and children which Lakshmi Bai denied responsibility for.

Well… seems some of you would enjoyed it….

There are so few movies about the Indian Mutiny I'm just happy that anyone makes a movie for the period.

Utter drivel.

The India that would have resulted from a successful 1857 mutiny would be now far different (and worse IMO) than the India that resulted from Ghandi's efforts.
