I'm painting a small mountain of Landwehr figures for my late war (essentially 1815) Prussian army.

Looking for acceptable variety, can I use figures of some officers in regular uniform?

I'm assuming retired officers were recalled to the ranks to help officer the burgeoning battalions so did they wear their old regimentals or not?

I think the officers would often wear line uniforms, sometimes with the Landwehr cap instead of the Shako. The painted units on the Calpe site have some like this and Peter knows his Prussian uniform info as well as anyone i think.

As per David Nash
Landwehr officers were permitted to wear the interimsrock of the regular army, together with the officers normal clothing but head wear should be the Landwehr schirmutze. Officers from which they were seconded from.
But as he says the Landwehr was haphazardly uniformed so a uniformed officer here and there doubt anyone could argue against that.
When I did my Landwehr I would paint odd a bag, hat, or pack a odd color, file off a sword or something every once in a while.

Thanks, gents. Looks like a couple of head swops are in order.

@ 14Bore: that's my intention, too.

Considering that some of them were "retired" pre-reform officers, even a stray 1806 uniform would be possible, though that would be more likely in the Landsturm.
