Come on over and make my office look that nice!

Funny thing is, I don't think we purchased anything in the room. The desk was a gift from a colleague of my wife's, the futon was saved from a flooded house and the mattress was from an ancient love seat my parents had literally thirty years ago. The chair was something my parents had and passed on, the secretaries came from grandparents, and even the computer and monitor is a cast off from my son, and the printer was a freebie from a neighbor's law firm. Trying to arrange it into a coherent whole is the challenge!

Love that office! I have a secretary desk much like yours and really like it. I like that view you have too.

The view is the best part. I planted two trees when my children were born. Twenty years later it is still a delight to see them as mature trees in the front yard.

I like what appear to be floor to ceiling windows, and your approach of not incessantly buying new things – the best example of which is of course the fabulous Tennant collection.

That's my wife's influence! I must admit she surprised me with being on board for acquiring the Tennant collection. All it took was showing her I could get rid of more stuff in the fund raising stage, than I would acquire with the purchase and she was willing to take the risk. Fortunately the fund raising was a success!

It is a lovely story photocrinch. At age 13 I can remember staring at Bruce Quarrie's book, marveling at the vast number of metal figures beautifully painted and completely out of my reach. Reading your discovery and frankly rescuing of the collection brought me a lot of cheer and nostalgia!

Best of luck with maintaining and adding to the collection.
