There is a USN version of the EC-121 at the Aerospace Museum of California, which is painted to honor the EC-121 squadrons that flew out of McClellan AFB (which was closed and now serves as McClellan Park) in the Sacramento area. You can't go aboard her (she's basically an empty fuselage) but you can walk around her and see her size. |

Yes, AWACS. The role of the EC-121 in the air war over North Vietnam as "Red Crown" was unknown for a long time. It was one of the factors (particularly paired with Combat Tree) that allowed the USAF and USN to significantly improve their performance. |
