Hmmm, makes me wonder if they ever recovered from the 40% "paycut" from a few years (perhaps even a decade or so) back? For the record, IIRC, instead of receiving their $30 USD a month or so stipend, they were going to get $18 USD instead. I also wonder how those that were thrown off the "payroll" have fared, since they were deemed to be too expensive to continue to support. They were told to start up capitalist businesses in a country devoid of spare cash. Surely, their benevolent and reliable friends the Russians will come to their aid. |
