How do you base the majority of your human-sized figures? * individual, round bases * individual, square bases * multi-figure bases etc. |

Individual circular bases for infantry- it is much simpler to form circle-based figs up in ranks by pivoting a bit… I also prefer how circles look. |

Usually square. Sometimes round for troops never expected to be in a formation. |

My Dark Age figures, which would double in a fantasy role, as well as my few fantasy figures, are based on round fender washers. Ace Hardware loves me! Grelber |

I personally think round bases look slightly better for individually-based based figures that will be used for skirmish or roleplaying, but square bases are far better if you have any plans to play rank-and-file. I just do not like the open-order look of movement trays for round bases. |

Individual Round What about Individual Hex Bases? I use them a lot too because they give you an easy "1 hour" azimuth referent. |

Individual round. 2cm for civilians and infantry that fights in close ranks, 2,5 cm for the rest. For horses I 2 or 2,5 cm base, cut it down and glue a square or rectangular base (depending on miniature size) in between. Using the Victrix infantry bases I can then place 12 infantry in close ranks or 6 in open order on one base for a formation. |

For army battles: 60mmX45-50mm for mounted (3 figures for Medium/Knights; 2 figures for Lights); 60mm X 20-30mm for Foot (4 figures Heavies, 3 figures Mediums, 2 for Lights). For new skirmish game underdevelopment have so far been experimenting with 32mm round bases. Thomas J. Thomas Fame & Glory Games |

Depends on the game. For 15mm mass battles I use multi-figure basing, similar to DBX. For 25mm skirmish games I use individual round bases. |

Mostly individual square bases. I will use round bases for skirmishers. If there are more than 10 models in the unit, extra ranks will be mounted 5 models on a single multi-model base. |

The majority: Individual round and square. |

Rectangular, based on 1"-squares: 1, 2, and three figures, per base, to make "change" for casualties within a Unit. Rectangular bases make it much easier to decide: Front, Flank, or Rear attacks. Rectangular bases make it super-simple to form units into box-like shapes, on the tabletop. I never use round bases, as my mini's do double duty, serving in armies, for mass battles games, as well as individuals, in RPG games. The square bases work perfectly in both types of games. Defining the front, flank, and rear, is equally important in both types of games, for me. Cheers! |
