Has anyone ever sold older games or miniatures to nobke Knight or similar internet/retailer? I am just curious about the ballpark price you can get—1/3 retail value, 1/2? |

I've dealt with them a couple of times, and I guess they give maybe 1/3 of the value. BUT then they pay for all the shipping so it I was happy. |

I was also wondering about the bulk purchase issue. It is similar to what people say about selling collections on ebay—you get better money selling item by item, but some don't sell and the shipping and handling adds up and takes time. |

I sold them a lot of old RPGs and modules. It was a big and heavy shipment. I got 1/4 of what I could have if I had sold it off myself. I just wanted it out of my house. They covered shipping too. Matthew |

I sold them a lot…maybe 1/4, if that. But I needed to downsize for a move and didn't have time to sell them myself. |

I sold them a bunch of Formula De tracks back when they were in high demand. I think I got about 2/3 of what he priced those at but that was a unique, out of print item that he would still make a pretty good margin on. Process was simple though and I was happy to not have to e-nay anything. |

I've had several dealings. You get together an inventory (I added some pictures and some base prices I found elsewhere) and send it to him. You get a quote, more if you take store credit, and then you can decide to do it or not. There's no commitment on your part. Test the waters. If you like it, he pays shipping. If not, thank you very much. And there's no room for negotiations: he gives you his best offer up front. No haggling. Nice. A couple of items I thought were a little low, but that's just me. I went ahead anyways. Usually items that I could not sell here! Recommended. |

I was just happy to find someone to take the stuff off of my hands and out of my house. I have no idea if I could have made more by selling myself, especially as I had no way of finding any potential buyers, much less a buyer who would have paid me more. Anyone have any suggestions for finding these 'buyers' who pay 'full' price? |

jdpintex there are buyers here at TMP! For a couple of bucks you can become a premium member and get access to the marketplace. Here are several "facebook" historical selling sites I follow as well; "Historical Wargamers Buy, Swap and Sell" link "Historical Games Buy And Sell" link "The International Historical Wargames eXchange" link |

Done it a couple of times. Bulk lot of rule books and RPGs, some of which would not sell, happy to have that 50 pound box out of the house and decent credit. Other lot was a bunch of Dust tactics figures. Probably could have got more for it selling it off individually, but I didn't feel like make 40 boxes and trips to the PO. Happy to have it gone and some credit. Really easy to do too. You make more selling individually yourself, but some stuff won't sell or it is more trouble than it is worth. NK is a good backup plan. |

I sent them a list of several older titles still in shrink wrap a few years ago and was exceptionally underwhelmed at the offer. Seemed pretty lowball to me. I was able to work with another operator and received about 4 times what noble knight was suggesting. I won't deal with them for either selling or buying due to ny experience, but maybe you will have better luck. |

I'm always amused at the "they offered to low a price so I won't deal with them". If they offered a price and didn't pay that would be one thing but not dealing with them at all due to a low bid is interesting. I won't buy anything from them that I find priced too high but if the price is good I buy all I can from them due to their shipping being very fast and if you buy $149 USD or so it is free too. |

They do low ball on offers but -The are akin to pawn brokers for the hobby. I too was first shocked by the offer they gave me. But they are paying shipping, they are sitting on the figures til they sell – so they have overhead to consider too. It's a matter of numbers. |

In a,sense NK is offering you a wholesaler price and then they have to mark it up to a retail price with enough margin where they can make a little money too. Nothing wrong with that. They can't offer you a retail price and then expect to sell the items in the market. |

I recently sold some items to Noble Knight; my first time dealing with them. The process was straighforward, easy, and I think fair. Their payment was about 30% of original retail and they paid the shipping to get the item from me to them. Since I didn't have to field a lot of nonsense inquiries, figure various shipping charges, pack items for multiple buyers, etc… it was a very appealing option from a time and effort standpoint. Bill |
