Yup – my innocuous posts have been deleted… I miss them so much |

It's usually a sure sign that a mistake has been made when there's no desire to admit it (incidentally why is this such a problem? Whether it's business or politics or anything, people who think they are "the boss" never want to own up to mistakes and will go to great lengths instead to hide or otherwise make it look like there was no mistake, when it would be easier to just admit a mistake and move on) but instead criticism is punished and silenced so everything can look as though it's 100% agreement with the viewpoint of those in "charge". Again, it seems pretty ironic to see such behavior on a board about historical wargaming, given the number of dictators and similar "if you silence dissent then there's no dissent at all" events that have occurred in history. |

@Sho Boki I was heartened to see you managed to get a response from the Editor on your Hobby News ad. Perhaps we should take our questions there seeing as he doesn't seem to read TMP Talk any more! |

Yes, I am a sample icon and tester of new policy. Bill also promises me one wild welcome party for being an advertiser. |

Wayniac Bill is not a dictator, he is a business man, this is his business it not a public utility, charity or some philanthropic service. As such he has the right to do whatever he deems appropriate including just shutting the whole thing down. As Bill might tell you, there is a lot that he does/allows here that I disagree with. But it his business. |

That I would totally accept. All I ever asked was that he would just inform members about this new policy, rather than just delete new postings that do not conform to the changes that most are totally unaware of. But I have this morning agreed with him to stop complaining and am now doing so. This is a service I very much value. It is his creation. It is his to manage, as he sees fit. I have never been hostile to him about a "New Policy" that I did say might actually be an advantage to us (even if unrealistic in practice). I just begged him to communicate. He, politely, asked me to stop complaining in a personal message this morning. I agreed. I suspect this will all sort itself out in the end and we will continue to share valuable info on our hobby interests. |

All I ever asked was that he would just inform members about this new policy, rather than just delete new postings that do not conform to the changes that most are totally unaware of. Sigh. The only posts that have been deleted have been of the "TMP is dead to me now!" hysterical type. Members have been consistently informed by posts to the TMP Talk board. If they do not wish to read this board, nobody should force them to. |

Members have been consistently informed by posts to the TMP Talk board. Where are the posts explaining the rules in full and clarifying all the questions that have been asked here? I can't seem to find them, can you point me to the correct thread please. |

Hi Bill Thank you for the explanation. Maybe some of the confusion is because of readers like me who just go straight to the boards they are interested in, in my case the Napoleonic boards. I've been visiting the site very regularly since 2010 and until this discussion started a few days ago I didn't know TMP Talk even existed. Perhaps that just shows a lack of curiousity on my part but it's a fact that I don't look at other parts of the site. Judging by the responses on this and other threads I'm not the only one. I think this is what Deadhead was trying to highlight, there is a reason for the lack of awareness and understanding of the policy. TMP is an extremely valuable resource and I'm sure everyone appreciates that. We just want to find a way of discussing new releases on the message boards, as we have been doing for many years, without infringing the rules. All the best |

Where are the posts explaining the rules in full and clarifying all the questions that have been asked here? I can't seem to find them, can you point me to the correct thread please. Seconded. We just want to find a way of discussing new releases on the message boards, as we have been doing for many years, without infringing the rules. Also seconded |

Devils Dice, Lambert Thirded (If such a word exists) I think these rules should be on the front page and in FAQ, not hidden away in TMP talk, so new members who may be unaware that the latter even exists don't inadvertently break them. |

There are products mentioned on the forums that I would not have otherwise heard of. For example; Brad Burkovich every so often announces his latest scenario book on the ACW board. I go to where they are sold and buy it immediately, because of the quality of his work not because he is a paid advertiser. In fact I don't care if he is or isn't a paid advertiser. I am not the sales department for TMP. Part of the reason I visit this place is to find out about products which contributes to my enjoyment of this hobby. These are products I would probably never hear about otherwise. It makes this place is a good alternative to FB. But take that away and it greatly diminishes the value of visiting here. In the past several years there has been gradual restricting of what is acceptable subject matter on TMP and it is making it less fun and less useful. |
Phrodon | 23 Sep 2019 7:06 a.m. PST |
Every topic is entitled; "The Face of Modern Battle Released" followed by a number 1-50. Well, I have been working on new products, but not 3-4 per day. :) I wonder how long that bug has been there? |

Just checked that again and Hobby News Statistics still has that same error. Might be worth reporting to the Editorial Board? |
