…War Crimes.

"Panel lists 160 key actors in Yemen war who could face charges, adding to pressure on UK to end Saudi arms sales

Britain, the US and France may be complicit in war crimes in Yemen by arming and providing support to a Saudi-led coalition that starves civilians as a war tactic, a United Nations report has said…"

Yea, and the "panel" is "complicit" too, since they didn't put a stop to this.

Perhaps, instead, the UN should lay blame at the feet of the root cause of this conflict, Iran, and their Iranian-backed, Houthi rebels.

I notice there is no mention of Iran, or Iran's involvement in the "balanced" article. I wonder why that is?

"…..the principle of proportionality" is a ridiculous UN concept, and just serves to prolong conflicts. If that had been invoked in WWI or WWII, those wars would have never ended, and we'd still be fighting them.

The way to end battles and wars quickly is with overwhelming force, not endless stalemates.

Of course Britain, US and France will be found complicit, because they can be extorted for large sums of cash.

@Thresher01, exactly! Iran expanded the civil war by funneling guns, cash and special ops troops to the Houthis and helped them capture the capitol city of Saan'a. Then they further armed the Houthis with Scud ballistic missiles, Silkworm anti-ship missiles and embarked on a war by proxy against Saudi Arabia and the UAE, launching dozens of Scud missiles against cities and oil fields, and damaging and sinking a number of ships with ASMs. Then the Saudis appealed to the Arab League which supported action in Yemen, and a multinational Arab-led coalition took action against the Houthi. Iran has also been using this conflict as a test-bed for new weapons systems like explosive drones, new anti-ship mines and so on.

So why the fruck doesn't this UN report point out Iran's central role in this awful mess??

Because Iran has or will have nukes soon.

Can we just take it for granted that Britain is responsible for everything that goes wrong or went wrong, everywhere, and at any time since we were flayed by the Normans. It would save so much hot air and print space amongst liberals everywhere…

Every time I hear the term "war crime", it makes me think of the movie "Breaker Morant". In a certain way, all war is crime. Who gets to decide which killing is not? I think General Curtis LeMay once reflected that if America had lost the war, he would be tried as a war criminal.

But we bequeath a parting tip
For sound advice of such men,
Who come across in transport ship
To polish off the Dutchmen!

If you encounter any Boers
You really must not loot 'em!
And if you wish to leave these shores,
For pity's sake, DON'T SHOOT 'EM!!

And if you'd earn a D.S.O.,
Why every British sinner
Should know the proper way to go
Is: "ASK THE BOER TO DINNER!"

LT Sparker, I don't think the "colonists" can stand idly by, while you claim ALL of that for yourselves, since everytime I see anyone from certain sections of the planet (no wait, pretty much the whole planet now, due to numerous self-flagellants), we ALWAYS bear the brunt of the blame too, so I think you'll have to settle with sharing at least some portion with us as well.
