Here is a photo of HMS Jonquil (left) and HMS Triad (right). The former served as General Stopford's HQ off Suvla Bay in the Gallipoli campaign. The latter was used by General Hamilton.
HMS Jonquil was a Flower-Class corvette. I only found one supplier in 1:1200 scale. Here is what I received:
It was fun to resurrect though. I stripped everything back and created a new upper deck, guns, bridge, etc. Still need ventilators though. Robert |

Are you sure that was a Flower class corvette? I thought they were only designed in 1939? |

Flower-Class sloop – sorry about that. Robert |

Thought the model looked wrong for a corvette! That is a great idea for a command stand by the way for an interesting battle. I must steal your idea – I think I'll lose fewer commanders on the table top if they're offshore! I just finished reading an account of the battle from the Turks' side. Not the German accounts; it was based on the Turkish army archives. I'm curious to see what else you come up with. |

Which account was that, Tony S? Robert |

Gallipoli: the Ottoman Campaign, by Erickson from Pen & Sword. The author often quoted the actual orders, and intelligence assessments of the battle that still exist in the Turkish archives. A useful antidote to Von Sander's somewhat self serving biography. link |

Yes, an excellent book and must-have to understand the Gallipoli campaign. Another very book source is 'The Ottoman Defence against the ANZAC landing', by Mesut Uyar: link It only deals with the landings at Anzac Cove on 25 April and the subsequent early counter-attacks but another super Ottoman perspective. Thanks Robert! That does look interesting, and it's even reasonably priced. |

No worries. Have you seen the work we have been doing to wargame the Gallipoli campaign (hence the ships)? Robert |

Uh, no. I assume you have a link? Curious to see the rules you're using. |

Thanks, Shawn. I think I have figured a way of creating the ventilators so look out for an update ;-) Robert |
