Why is there a website link and then calling for reservations? Confusing to me and I suppose others as well. Thanks. Maynard |

von, Just two different ways of making reservations. I find using a link pretty efficient but not everyone does so we offer both options to make it as easy on as many as possible. They both take people to the same room block. Joby |

Thanks, Joby (and Maynard)! Was wondering about this as well. |

70 hours and counting. "Gentlemen, start your engines." |

Joby: Nice AAR of the con. Here is to betting attendance is up. I've always been about the GMs. I sure wish there was a way to reserve a block of the rooms for GMs to make their job a bit easier. Good luck with the next con. People really should like this location. :-) |

Special GM block? I'm down for that! |

I sure wish there was a way to reserve a block of the rooms for GMs to make their job a bit easier. Then have a bunch of the so-called "GM's" back out at the last minute. Never will work. |

I never have. And most don't. Even so, the rooms would just come open anyway. Like no one else cancels? |

Even so, the rooms would just come open anyway. Like no one else cancels? Ok – then why do it to begin with? |

Because hmgs GMs have a compelling reason to stay on site. Kinda obvious, isn't it? |

Because hmgs GMs have a compelling reason to stay on site. Kinda obvious, isn't it? Everyone has a compelling reason to stay onsite. The GMs should do what everyone else does – wait for the link to open up and schedule the room. |

Like no one else cancels? A few years ago many GMs canceled games after gaining free access to the convention. Reserving a block just for GMs would be fraught with all sorts of problems. Register game, get special room, then cancel game week before convention. What happens to the room? Does the GM then lose it? Who gets first dibs at it then? |

Because hmgs GMs have a compelling reason to stay on site. Kinda obvious, isn't it? Then everyone should say they are a GM, get the preferred GM block room, and then not run a game. I totally understand the need to make things easy for the GM's. I truly do. But having a block specifically for GMs is a prescription for abuse, imo. Edit: I've been Ninja'd by Condottiere, I see. |

But having a block specifically for GMs is a prescription for abuse, imo. I get that we need to have a plan for the GMs. I'm sure the BoD is looking at how they can make everyones job easier. But reserving a block of rooms for a select group of people is difficult to manage and creates a feeling of some people being "less deserving". |

Was it 10 AM Eastern time? Because I keep getting an error trying to book saying no rooms available for the rate and have been since 10:01 |

I just booked mine – 5 minutes ago. Maybe they were waiting for me. Duncan |

Funny to read the comments here after the GM comments on the hotel room threads. As the HMGS GM of the year, I wasn't able to get a room at the hotel, as I'm on vacation. Guess I won't be running any of my games there in July. |
