Officially they were 'apple green' with black metal fittings and bronze barrels. However, paintings seem to indicate a colour not dissimilar to that of French guns. I try and recreate it by using Vallejo Intermediate Green 074 and then giving it a wash with black ink.

My theory, Bill doesn't seem to agree but have tested it numerous times that it's a delay in the time you hit post and it posts. The three entries are because you hit the sum it button three times.

As for the color I try to find actual pictures but hardly any two are the same, my attemps are darker, good luck.

I have always used a lightish green for Russian Napoleonic guns, I don't think there was much change over the Napoleonic period. For the French I use a mix of yellow ochre and black, which gives a sort of yellowish olive green. Pretty sure I once read that that was how they made the original paint.
