I have a prospective buyer in Europe who wants quite a few of my metal figs but I'm afraid shipping will kill the deal.

Last discussion was in June 2017, so I'm looking for any update.

Thanks

Find someone who is traveling to Europe and have that person mail the items there. I was going to send two books and four figures to a good friend in England. Cost from middle America to England was $84. USD I was willing to wait for a person who was traveling to England in four months. Cost to post in England was a little over 5 English pounds. Well worth the wait.

International First Class is your best option. It starts at $14.25 USD. I used Germany as a hypothetical destination. At 9oz weight it jumps to $24 USD, BUT it doesn't go up again until you get to 2pds 1oz, when it goes to $37.50 USD.

If you can, parce the figs into lots just under 2pds. I don't know how many groups that makes given the numbers and weights if your figs. If your buyer can live with the subdivided costs, you're there. If not, ask around if someone knows someone in the US military stationed in Europe. APO it to them, and inveigle them to ship the rest of the way.

Good luck.

I disagree.

The OP mentions shipping quite a few figures. That means using a USPS Priority flat rate box is your cheapest rate.

You can internationally ship 20lbs for $71.75 USD in a medium size box or $94.25 USD for the large size box. That breaks down to roughly $3.50 USD or $5.70 USD a pound.

Typo----$4.70/lb for the large box.

Always look to the movies for plausible ideas!

Body cavities will always be the cheapest option.

In the end there is no real cheap way to ship to Europe.

Shipping from the US to the UK needs to be product value less than £16.00 GBP GBP, otherwise you can accrue Import Tax, plus a minimum £8.00 GBP GBP post office handling fee.
You may be lucky and sneak one past them, but they're pretty hot usually.

As long as you have been up front with the buyer, there should be no issue. Since I generally price my stuff postpaid in the US, I sort of pro-rate the additional cost of international postage. If they want the figures, they will be fine with the cost.

1st Class used to be the best option, but they took away the ability to ensure those shipments, so Priority Mail is the best bet, if you need delivery confirmation and want/need insurance.

Listen to Jarrovian, but who knows what might happen in the coming months with trade and customs. Only snag will be the exchange rate of the Pound Sterling at £10.00 GBP to $1 USD…….
