Nice job! Have you been to London to look at the Golden Hind?

What a lovely bit of work!!! What was the cost of the kit? Didn't even know they did one in 1/72!

Very nicely done indeed. 45 years ago a friend and I used several of these models in a home-brewed game of Spanish versus English navies, but they were certainly not finished as well as yours. Still got a xeroxed copy of the rules in a file. (Wonder what happened to those models?)

@oberlindes Golden hind is not in London . I think you're thinking of the cutty sark or HMS Belfast

Bellbottom19 Aug 2019 2:49 a.m. PST

@dwight shrute
The Golden Hind replica is in London, on the south bank, east of The Globe theatre.

Yup, theres a replica in London, and one in Brixham…

Ive been on both.

There was a third in Essex for a while IIRC but I think it got scrapped..

Pauls Bods19 Aug 2019 8:19 a.m. PST

Thanks All :-)
@Oberlindes. I havenīt, TBH, even though I lived there for years, I didnīt know there was one.
@Dave. Nickīs Right. Mine cost me slightly more but Airfix Always Costs a bit more here anyway. Iīm not 100% sure it is 1/72nd. Airfix sometimes brings out older kits and relabels them as 1/72 when they are 1/76. Still, the figs look ok on it so it serves Purpose :-)

Fantastic job and the build notes are great!

The one in London is actually replica built in 1973, using original methods. I think it has travelled more miles across the seas than the original.

Dave,

so have I, and a few thousand figures!

Tally Ho!
