Just wondering if anyone has tried Bolt Action for skirmish level games, such as towards the end of the war with the Bitter-enders.

Of course the Second Boer War is not your typical colonial conflict with both sides using magazine rifles, Maxim mgs and even Pom-Poms.

I have used it with the Mexican Revolution and it worked very well. Pancho Villa versus the Federales.

I'd have thought that the 24" range would not best reflect the "empty Battlefield" of the conflict, where the Boers engaged at long range and halted the British with their fire.

Good point. Perhaps the Boers should simply be given a longer range than the Imperial forces?
