Is there ever a chance of having another mini convention like I attended years ago in Baltimore?

"Ask again, later."

Well, it's not HMGS, but we're running a small 2-day regional con up in Havre de Grace, MD (NE of Baltimore in Harford County) in September, called BARRAGE. It's kind of like a mini convention. :)

JMP,

What are you referring to?

Quite a while back the HMGS held a one day event at the Baltimore Convention Center which I was able to attend as a GM. It was a fun day with new faces.

I thought it was a great way to draw in new gamers. And have a fun day

That was the dry run for Historicon at the BCC that never happened, I believe. I think that ship has sailed.

Thank you for the clarification. I wish there was a way to organize an event in Hagerstown to draw in local gamers.

Thanks again

Bowman is correct. It was a "test the waters" day. It was a very nice facility, but I remember walking in with a friend and he turned to me and said, "Gee, the parking is a long way from the building."

JML, you might want to consider doing this yourself. (Isn't it fun when others suggest things that make a lot of work for you?) Lol.

Start by looking at places that would be free or inexpensive to have a small get together. Consider issues as parking, lighting, tables and chairs, ease of moving in and out, and eating. Start small, maybe only 1 day with 30 or so people. Find a suitable venue and you're half way there.wink

Pick the brains of the HAWKS. These guys have a lot of experience and know-how.

That ship didn't sail. It sank.

Ditto on reaching out to HAWKS. They're NE of Baltimore, and Hagerstown is NW.

Also think about reaching out to NOVAG

They're out of the DC burbs.

Lol!
