A little while ago my wife and I attended a local WWII themed show. I took lots of photos of the many cool period vehicles. Some I know the name of/type, others, like this one:

Looks like a 1/2 ton Dodge. The military decided they didn't need 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks and concentrated on the 3/4 ton trucks. The 1/2 ton vehicles were pretty much early war. |

you can see elements of the dodge wc and gmc 6x6 in this vehicle, phased out as wildman said, too many weight classes. |
