Gentlefolk, I don't know how I did it, but over the course of the last two days, I completely tore into and completed transcribing Volume Two, of the Khalsa Durbar Records. I'm fairly certain that it took me almost eighteen hours to get some twenty years worth of material put onto paper, including one Bear of a mess OB from 1837 and the only true "Parade State" for the militia in 1843 (or some such year, I'm kinda groggy at the moment). They need to be tidied & prettied up a bit and that won't happen until Friday due to my schedule for the next few days, but that will not take too much time to accomplish either. Hopefully I'll be finished with this process by early Saturday afternoon, at the latest. The bottom line though, the book needs to be hammered and tonged into one cohesive entity and that's going to take time; starting next week. BUT…for all intents and purposes…The Sikh War Source Book is now complete and ready for the final stages! Please, by all means…SHARE this information with your friends and fellow cohorts! So do I…a lengthy and Brutal Divorce, a cross state move, starting a whole new (and HAPPY) life, plus a few minor health problems took their toll. All that has changed, but the proof will be when Helion announces a publication date. Life, honestly does, interfere at times! And also, to be quite frank, when your Ex gets half the proceeds if you do write the book and nothing if you don't…that weighs on the mind also. If she had been a Friend and Partner, I could understand, but she always considered the book a joke from the start and wouldn't know a Sikh from a sink. I had to pull myself up by the bootstraps because the book IS important to me and will hopefully be seen in that light by others. I honestly do apologize for all that has happened, but I am doing my utmost to get the book in to Helion's hands early this coming Autumn. |
