Thats Call To Arms in Wellington New Zealand put on by the Wellington Warlords. Well I finally managed to put a Game on with all the models painted for Isandlwana so far. As things went it did not take long for things to go the Zulus way after a long build up. I wrote a timetable which was based on the Osprey title of British Red Coat verses Zulu which has a map and quite a good description of the battle. I have issues linking photos from my Blog to here so here is the link to my Blog if you want to look. link |

Daniel, FANTASTIC!
Sounds like a cracking game too (and with all the cracks made with as many of the movie lines thrown in too). :) Btw, neat how you attached shields onto the borders of your movement trays…..lots of work shows through in your presentation. (and wish I could achieve half your collection!)

Beautifully done. I especially like your movement trays. Would love to see more AZW action. |

Thanks guys. It was a pleasure to put on after so much hard work. I struck the idea of using those trays as during playtesting I grabbed some spare lids off some storage boxes. (I did not like pushing the plastic figures on mdf bases around.) Then I thought Id add some balsa to make them look good. The shields denote where the regiment belongs in the order of battle. Shields on the right is right Horn, on the left the left Horn. At the front the head and mid way the reserve. The dice are red for wounds and white for shock. |

Tight, functional, along with good visuals – I think they often term that "elegant". Btw, just went through a number of your blog's AZW pages – excellent painting and game preparation work! Can I ask for some quick advice? I've just received my ordered Empress supply wagon, and considering now how I might want to paint it. I'm understanding that the Imperial supply system was predominately using local contracted wagoners, and would this mean that any wagon paint applied would have been the choice of individual owner/operators (or perhaps was there a predominate color often applied by a local builder)? Any thoughts or advice on this? |

Daniel, I think I have found my answer for the above from digging further into your blog - link |
