I was one of the "all in backers"-I got one of everything. I got wave 1 about the last week of June in the eastern US. There is a second wave coming that is being packed now-i just got the packing notice. I suspect late September, early October delivery.
So far, so good. 15mm figures are all pretty good. Very passable for historical 100YW wargaming should you want to go that route; the mounted knights are not the best "sculpts," a little cartoony, but everything else is pretty good.
Buildings and ruins were very good. I've painted most of the first wave's buildings and using GW Contrast paints, quite a few of the minis. Pretty happy with everything.
Game plays pretty well, took a few run throughs to figure it out, but again, pretty fun. More boardgame than war-game, but if you don't like the game, you've got enough figures and terrain/buildings for any Lion Rampant scenario, an army for Hail Caesar, DBx, FoG, Mortem et Gloriam, ad infinitum…and plenty of fantasy figures for any fantasy war-game (Warlords of Erehwon, Dragon Rampant). The Dragon and Devil figures are huge-easily compatible with 25/28/32MM figures.
So, they are re-offering the complete line again this fall via Kickstarter. They are updating the rules and dealing with balance issues in some of the scenarios. Yes, there were imperfections, but for a first time game company, this is a significant success. The physical products are as good as any game company, and the rules and scenarios, good, with some caveats.
They are also adding a Teutonic Knights expansion and possible a few other add ons. I'll add these to my collection as well.
Some of the "rest of world" customers are still waiting for their wave 1 (Asia, South America, Africa) but for the most part Europe and North America have gotten theirs. Only a few issues that I saw on the boards.
So,
if you have the spare cash, like the HYW period, don't mind a bit of historical fantasy thrown in-I'd recommend the game. Not for the historical purist, though.
