My wife has painted a bunch of Vietnam 28mm stuff and some of the figures have got a white cast to them; she thinks it's maybe because the varnish (MIG Lucky ultra-matt) was brushed on too thick…any ideas for a remedy? |

When it happens with Testors, spray them with Gloss Coat, then when dry, hit them again with Dull Coat… Also with spray painting (at least) humidity and temperature plays a big role… |

She's pretty sure it's because it was too thick; the next batch (when she thinned the varnish)are fine. The 'thick varnish' figures have a kind of dusty look…might a second coat fix that? |

I've had the same issue when I've been a bit heavy handed with the varnish spray can. Gloss coat then matt coat does work, but there have been a few bits where it hasn't worked quite so well. So they got a paint touch up. Small price to pay compared to a full repaint |

Sometimes re-varnishing can eliminate that. |

Re-varnish with thinner coats and it will fix it. |
