I am interested in seeing if readers might draw conclusions similar to mine. It is an article in progress.

Mike;
One day I will make it to Antietam. Since I'm doing research on my local regiment, the 51st Pennsylvania (out of Norristown, PA)…

This past week I took Soldiers from my unit to GBurg to follow the trail of a Lehigh Valley unit, the 153rd PVI.

I have to say that was an interesting bit.

You are a gem when it comes to sharing these things.

I wish I could have had your time teaching and researching and all. I hope you keep it up as long as you can.

The 153rd was 11th Corps wasn't it? I had a lady out on the field today who had a relative in the 153rd. If you need a guide for Antietam and South Mountain, call the bookstore and book me. I will be glad to take you out on the field.

Yes, the 153rd, was part of Von Gilsa's Brigade and was on Blocher's Knoll (now called Barlow's) They were 1st Brigade, 1st Division in the 11th Corps.

Lots of "1"'s there… :-)

They were Northampton County, PA Soldiers to a man. And served a month after their term expired… 569 went into battle, 211 became casualties.

Great book called "In Lieu Of A Draft" by Lochard Lovenstein talks about their actions from raising until demobilization.

Think you might make it to Fall-In? Bring more books! I certainly need to buy more, since I don't think I have everything written by you or the ACW, yet… :-)
