You can get them and all the others here:

gim-figures.com

The range will be expanded to the Crimean war and the Franco-Prussian war soon.

cheers

These look excellent. Are there plans to produce 'rank and file' packs for those of us who might preger big units?

Having said they look superb for dioramas

FlyXwire02 Aug 2019 5:35 a.m. PST

They look amazing!

Anyone who has purchased them (especially for their French Army 1853-1870 figs)- are they 'true 25s', or would they size larger?

williamb03 Aug 2019 3:45 p.m. PST

Really nice figures, but not suitable for 1870. Bearskin replaced by Bonnet de Police(sp) on campaign in 1870.

Au pas de Charge03 Aug 2019 3:48 p.m. PST

It says theyre 1/72nd scale

FlyXwire04 Aug 2019 11:28 a.m. PST

Thanks, but the manufacturer's website also says their French 19th-century line are 25mm figures. So with scale-creep the norm today, my question would be for someone who has collected these miniatures.

Double G07 Aug 2019 5:40 p.m. PST

I've purchased all of the French infantry, artillery and Prussian infantry in multiples.

They are listed/advertised as 25mm, but to me they are 1/72nd scale, I used them with my B & B Franco Prussian War figures and they all mix fine.

Any other questions, let me know. The Imperial Guard figures have been out for awhile now, they are not new.

FlyXwire08 Aug 2019 4:46 a.m. PST

GG, thank you!

Double G08 Aug 2019 4:04 p.m. PST

FlyXwire; my pleasure. They are a bit larger than my 20mm B & B figures, but they blend fine, they are spectacular figures, superb sculpts and poses, I am curious what else is in the pipeline…………….

Brownand10 Aug 2019 8:37 a.m. PST

I have looked at the pictures but it seems that the packs are ment for modelling/diorama's etc and not for wargaming. You can't buy afaik a command pack and other packs to make up a battalion of eg 24 figs.
They are very nice but this is a no go for me

Double G11 Aug 2019 7:21 a.m. PST

Yes, the packs are meant for modelling and dioramas. Massimo Costa sculpted these for a group of collectors in Germany who are building a diorama on Solferino, these are not traditional wargaming poses; marching, advancing, command, etc, etc are some of the poses, but they are much, much more dynamic than basic wargaming poses………..

In Kulmbach I purchased the Guard Grenadiers in 28mm – and these are wonderful sculpted and show a vivid appearance.

And I'm happy that Massimo startet do sculpt further sets for 1870-71, as next year it is the 150th "anniversary" of this war and I recognized some manufacturers (mostly flat figures) who start to sell figures for this period.

The first two 28mm sets of Massimo are Prussian infantry, actually he plans to sculpt figures for the "Death attack" of the Bredow brigade (7th cuirassiers and 16th ulans).

Kind regards
Markus Stein
