The Kryst are sorta desert Quar. I made up these buildings to look sorta like Middle Eastern buildings, sorta like pueblos.

I'm pleased with them.

I like ‘em. They fit well in the sorta mode

I guess I used "sorta" a few times up there. :)

How about kinda?

They look kinda like middle eastern buildings but they have their own unique look.
How did you get the inward bows? They look slick and match the round one, next to it, well.

I think you did an excellent job.
Very creative

Love those. Suits them.

Originally I tried to do them in cardboard with tubes. Then I tried to make some sheets I could print out glue, but too flimsy. So these are designed in Tinkercad. Even there I first tried to make them by dragging out cylinders and subtracting. Eventually I moved to writing JavaScript programs using a library at Tinkercad.

Thanks for kind words. They do need some detailing, but I think I would do that with regular methods.

My Mind went straight to "why not just scratchbiuld them???" Good to hear you at least made the attempt first.

Plastic pvc plumbers pipe may be a quick alternative. You could probably get a few offcuts from a plumber. Just use a hacksaw to cut to size. It's best to mark your line around the pipe and make several short cuts, to make sure you don't end up with a weird angle. Off cuts may already be the right length. Drill a few holes and trim with a knife for windows. Liquid nails in some mdf, ply or card roofs. Fun to be had cutting and reversing sections for the concave buildings.

Look Mum, no print lines!

I did consider pipe as well.

For me, this was much more fun, and much easier. No way I could have cut the straight lines in pipe. Getting the corners to come to a nice point would have been impossible (for me).

I also don't think that if I cut out a section of pipe and reversed it that it would nest appropriately. The inner radius of the pipe itself wouldn't match the outer radius.

Each building would have been a big project. Now that I have the designs, I ask my son to print them out, as many as I want. And I can share them.

Those are really nice!

Thanks. They do need some detail, but I'll finish those up by hand. I'm a bit torn about gluing them together (and making it easier to add details) vs keeping them modular. Leaning towards modular at the moment, but they do need better detail.

Well Done. I was having SW flashbacks.
Have you considered using a textured spray paint? For a desert world look, I'd say a med to light sand color.
While pvc would be a more precise 'rounded' look, however like you, the very idea of 'Me cutting a round pipe by hand, well the results would not be pretty."
I'd be more confident using a table saw (straight edge) w/ a fine tooth blade and slow spd. I like to see these after detailing.

Thanks.

I did use a textured paint. I think it was something we had around, and it turned out to be a textured glaze. So I think it is underneath the paint.

My son prints these out for me, and he is sending me some soon. I've made the doors bigger, and I don't have any yet. So some who have downloaded this may have better doors than I have! I also have a door that fits over two adjacent walls of the same size. I'll upload that at some point.
