Picked up some Liberator II minis from CinC's SEM line a couple years ago and am finally painting them:
I also picked up a Renegade Cohort pack of plastic miniatures as well. They are obviously not as nice as the metal miniatures, but with a little work are acceptable. Here is a Liberator I:
The turrets are very 2 dimensional, so I added a wafer of sheet plastic to the bottom of the turret and sculpted a gun out of brass wire, glass beads, and super glue to give a family resemblance to the Liberator II.

Yes, the manufacturer claims that they are 1/285. |

Love the camo patterns and your mods. Thanks for sharing your photos. What rules do you use for your battles? I've got Iron Cow, and was thinking about using it, and/or home-brew rules. |

I use Laserstorm by Nordic Weasel. Just purchased Strike Legion, we'll see where that goes. Played a lot of Dirtside back in the day, too. |

I have those from CinC's SEM line, awaiting paint. They are very nice models! And I love your camo job ! Email those pics to GW an show them what AFVs are supposed to look like ! Not bright shiny circus colors ! Laserstorm is not to my liking. I think you will find Strike Legion a better set of gaming rules. |

Legion, I am more of a hard sci fi type. Not a GW Space Marine with big rivets on the tanks of tomorrow kind of guy. I spent 22 years in the US Army in tanks and attack helicopters and the hardest thing was always threat acquisition and identification as a prelude to engagement. I suppose bright red tanks might be possible some day when sensor technology and IFF makes it irrelevant what color your tank is, but I can't change old habits! The rules I look for need to handle a lot of units on the board. I look for fast, simple, fun, and to be able to finish a game in a day. That's why I like Laser Storm. I just bought the Strike Legion Compendium and it looks intimidating. I went onto YouTube and watched a couple of demo games and am much more encouraged. |

I spent 10 & 1/2 years on active duty as an Inf Ofc '79-'90. In 1 Air Assault Bn and 3 Mech. So I am a BIG critic of GW's circus color predilections. You and I both know anything that makes you easier to see will just make you easier to hit/kill. So yes all my 6mm Sci-fi are in Tac/Camo colors. And yes old habits are hard to break ! So I agree with you ! |

Did you ever add infantry figs to your formations? I was wondering what figure line you went with? BTW, you might wish to check out Irregular Miniatures 6mm GRAV AFV's. I have found they are a close fit to RL. |

I use 6mm Infantry from many, many sources. GW Epic, CinC SEM, Onslaught, Microworld, Darkest Star, Brigade, HLS Exodus Wars, GZG, etc. Yes, Irregular does have some nice vehicles too. But I don't have that many. I have so many from everywhere else !
