…Look Like.

"Humanity speculating about aliens is like a virgin speculating about their first time. So little is known of the reality that the fantasy quickly ends up absurd. But hey, it's fun to fantasize anyway. So let's take a look at the wildest guesses scientists have made about who's going to probe us one day…"

Considering that we've got some life forms right here on our big blue marble that "shouldn't" exist, I wouldn't discount any speculations as being too speculative.

It's not anything like a virgin's speculations, because there are literally billions of credible witnesses who can describe what sex is like (I would venture to guess that everyone participating in these fora is descended from long lines of people who had sex), whereas there is considerable doubt about the stories of contactees.

The best statement on what alien life would be like by a biologist was one by a Frenchman, contemporray to Baron Cuvier whose name escapes – " Life on other worlds is certain, though it's form unknown; What we can be certain of is that it is most likely to consist of familiar parts in unfamilar combinations."

The worst description was by a mid 20th century English biologist, who through a logical chain of thinking taht soemwhat resembles teh Anthrpoic Principle with evidence, stated that all intelligent life would necessarily be humanoid, around 5'8" in height, with two legs, two arms, a lack of hair on their head and probably assisting their natural vision with artificial aids like eyeglasses. Sir Arthur C Clarke later quipped how it seems odd that all intillect would look precisely like the biologist himself through logic *alone* :)
