Due to working for my "Rich Uncle" (Uncle Sam) for some years and being sent to may far away lands, I had packed up my Epic Scale Space Marines back in 2003. Has GW dropped the Epic Scale? or has there been any new minis from them or any other companies such as Forge World? I could use your help with info. |

GW has pretty much dropped it but there are some fan-made troops available on Pintrest As well there are trolls.cz For Imperial Guard and Necrons link For Guard, Marines, Orks onslaughtmini.com Very wide range – Marines, Orks, Guard, Tau(ish), Sisters of Battle, etc |

I can only assume that Adeptus Titanicus II will ultimately herald a new Epic 40K. At least, that's what happened the first time around. And this time, with GW's awesome plastics, it's a no-brainer. |

The New Adeptus Titanicus will probably not go beyond Titans & Knights. I.e. No tanks & Grunts … But today there is a plethora of 6mm Sci-fi available. Fredrick posted some of them. But look here also on Manufacturer links or Google : Brigade Models Microworld HLS Exodus Wars Darkest Star Cp Models Scotia-Grendel Alterative Armies/Bradley |

Ironically Epic seems to be more alive than it was when first released when I actually played! No one's mentioned Vanguard yet who do some good stuff in their Defeat in Detail range (I've no idea if they have a US re-seller) vanguardminiatures.co.uk The secondary market for OOP Epic stuff can go nuts IMO so unless you're desperate to own the real thing I'd steer clear. |

From what I've seen, it looks like the new Apocalypse game might actually work pretty well for Epic. You can also use your figures for Adeptus Titanicus, so far they would count as anti-titan infantry and be of minimal utility but there is a decent chance that they might get more use as time goes forward. From what I've heard they are going to do some super-heavy tanks for AT but nothing smaller, but then the infantry were included in the last supplement so who knows. |

While I was away I had heard that new Epic game out with metal infantry minis. I had thought it was the Armageddon game, but I might be wrong. When I had heard a new version of the epic game came out I figured GW would change the vehicles and infantry stands again like they did for the version 3 of the game. It looks to me though that there are not an new minis from GW while I was away. So only over priced old minis on the secondary market or over priced 3D printed minis or unofficial minis from other companies that might be a close match. |

Yes, Epic A had metal figures, many copies of the plastics. Check out the Tactical Command site for everything Epic and 6mm Sci-fi in general. link No one's mentioned Vanguard It was the second link Fredrick posted. And I highly recommend them ! Ironically Epic seems to be more alive than it was when first released when I actually played! I started with Epic in '90. Have much of everything them made[save for most of the Knights, both iterations just sucked !!!]. And have been thru all it's iterations. I believe SM2/TL was very successful. But I found that the worse version of the lot. The only good thing about the new AT is the Titans are now in scale with the most of the rest of the Epic 6mm-1/300 scale models. The original Titans were about 1/500. With is about 3mm. The new Titans are more like 8mm. So that is very much in scale with the rest of the old Epic. I know from being on Epic FB pages. And I recommend those. link But many old timers like me, said we are keeping our original Titans. And will not buy the new more in scale, but are much more expensive. Than the original Titans. Which like me, many of those s have a lot of original Titans[I've got about 20 of all races!] And are satisfied with them. Something else I believe, the new AT is not geared for old time Epic gamers. But new "young blood", so to speak. As many of us older Epic gamers have seen GW kick Epic to the side of the road many times before. With 4 now 5 versions of one type or another. However I did get a set of their new buildings! My local hobby shop gave me 20% off ! Based on this many of us feel the GW will do this again sooner if not later. And cease to support it, like they did 4 times previously. Many of us get/rely on the new 3D e-market for anything new for Epic. And of course the other companies that product 6mm Sci-fi. Of which there are many as some of us posted here. So generally many like me on Tactical Command and the FB Epic pages say GW ! Who needs'm ! From what I've heard they are going to do some super-heavy tanks for AT but nothing smaller Don't hold your breath. We have seen this many times previously with GW Epic. After 4 versions released in the past, generally prepare to be disappointed. As we have been many times before. Like in the second Addams Family movie. Fester's wife in her youth wanted a Malibu Barbie, but got a Ballerina Barbie. Then became a homicidal maniac ! Don't let this happen to you !!! When it comes to GW Epic !!!! But as always everybody should do what works for them not me or those that feel as I do. But again … GW ! |

Legion 4, the new buildings you picked up are the ruins? I at one time used to have the cardboard buildings with plastic tops until a basement flood wrecked them. I like you started Epic SM in the 90's and got frosted with GW changing rules and minis so that you could not use the old stuff in official games held at GW shops. I even remember when GW tried to sue Scotia in the mid 90's over the term Space Marines and GW lost in court for scotia had proof that their Space Marines started in 1978 and GW had to pay Scotia a but load of money in order to use the term. Epic SM is a game that reminds me of an earlier time in my life and I guess that is why I am having a hard time giving it up. Thanks for the links. |

No the new buildings are plastic that came out with the new AT. See here – link I have all the Epic buildings from GW Epic. The styro-foam with AT1 in '89. The cardboard versions from both SM1 and SM2/TL. I'm still painting Epic and other 6mm Sci-fi … I love SM1 but even then we added Unit Activation(UA) over IGOUGO. It took GW a few years to add UA with the Epic: Armageddon. Glad to help, feel free to ask as I have been doing Epic since '89 and other 6mm since '91. |

I don't know about that, all three of the people at my local store that have really jumped into AT are over 40 and have been doing GW games for more than 20 years. |

Just my opinion, if you go to the TAC CMD site and FB page I posted. You'll see both POVs. However, many have posted as I have. We are keeping our original 1/500th Titans. And not buying the newer more in scale but much more expensive 8mm Titans. That is the way I have "interpreted" those comments on those locations on the net. Your experience at your location may or may not be the norm. I just know at my location, and on those links, what others worldwide have said. I could be wrong ? Or right ? |

"all three of the people at my local store.." No one could know what everyone going into a store is thinking. I assume "in store gamers that I have talked to" is meant. Not trying to have a go, but three people is not big research, even if they are the only ones playing in the store. It could be just as suggestive of how bad the game is with only three players from one entire store?? |

If you check out the global Horus Heresy community, organized around podcasts, events, and FB groups, a lot of Heresy players are big on Titanicus and they tend to be older experienced players. |
The H Man | 29 Jul 2019 2:26 a.m. PST |
That's not surprising. I didn't think it was being pushed like their main games, so not as many new players may know too much about it. I think the point is there are not as many players/customers for the new stuff vs older SM/Epic/what not. |
Legion 4 | 29 Jul 2019 6:58 a.m. PST |
As I said, many of us "Old Timers" like myself who started Epic in '89-'90, or so. Probably are not jumping on the new "Band Wagon". But all the same … some are … So everyone should do their own thing ! Like in the '60s ! |

"If you check out the global Horus Heresy community, organized around podcasts, events, and FB groups, a lot of Heresy players are big on Titanicus and they tend to be older experienced players." This is what I've seen online in a few places, including reddit. There seems to be more crossover with r/Warhammer30K than r/warhammer40K "Your experience at your location may or may not be the norm. I just know at my location, and on those links, what others worldwide have said. I could be wrong ?" I don't have numbers exactly, I just know that the AT stuff seems to appeal more to the older crowd at my store than the newer gamers. There was another guy in today who has been doing GW stuff decades and has bought all the new AT stuff but has yet to play a game. |
