I liked "One man's hero" and the most recent "Alamo" most of the others were entertaining (I haven't watched all of them) but not very historically accurate. |

Typical lack of historical knowledge. The Alamo (1833) was NOT part of the Mexican-American War (1845-47). |

I don't think there have been ANY movies about the Mexican War. As an aside, Tango brings back a great set of memories. I was sent to the Army Language School after basic training, May, 1955, for a year. One Saturday I went to the post movie house to see Sterling Hayden in the "Last Command." At that time there was popular song "Dav-eee, Davy Crocket! King of the Wild Frontier!" Actor Fess Parker has a TV series for Disney, 1954-55, with this as the theme. link When the rangy, humorous, skinny character actor Arthur Hunnicutt arrived in the film as Davy Crocket, the whole GI audience broke our in unison with (you guessed it!)"Dav-eeee, Davy Crocket! King of the Wild Frontier." Took a full five minutes for the laughter and "kibitzing" to stop. GdeP |

Glad it brings you good memories my friend! (smile) My friend rmaker… this forum is for "Mexican American Wars"… not "The Mexican American War"…. so it involved all the conflicts between Mexico and USA… including those skirmish on the frontier….

Texas was not part of the USA at the time of the Alamo. It was the Texas War of Independence or some such thing… |

There was one with Tom Berenger about the San Patricios battalion. Which as I look it up on YouTube I see it's the already noted "One Man's Hero." We used it at my school. Clips anyway. YouTube link |

I don't think there have been ANY movies about the Mexican War. Episode 2 of the old made for TV series North and South is about the War with Mexico and shows the battle of Churubusco. Kim |

They Came to Cordura with Gary Cooper. It has an interesting scene where cavalry goes from column to line. It is Mexicans vs US. There are very few films/tv movies about the Mexican/American War and those that are around are rather poor. I sort of like the John Wayne version of The Alamo just for the thousands of extras and the uniforms. |
