Thanks, Tango! Served well in Spain where the founder – duc d'Arenberg, a Belgian, was captured. The unit wore a hussar-style dark green dolman without the hussar barrel sash, yellow cording. Noted also for natural buff leather bullet pouch and carbine cross belt system, and narrow low-hanging sabre belts and straps. I see on Bucaqoy illustration with the barrel sash in dark green with "amarante" or "amaranthe" panels – pinkish color. This is one of the illustrations from the Bucquoy book. link Many illustrations in the Bucquoy light Cavalry book. GdeP |

If one might be willing to accept confusing information, this unit could be done using French hussars without the pelisse. Keep the barrel sash but in dark green with amaranth panels. Years ago I acquired some Willie 30mm Prussian hussars, leaning forward in the saddle with the right arm straight down and to the rear – as in completing a saber slash. I scraped away a lot of detail to do 4 Vistula lancers, with lances lowered to kill infantry on the ground. I used brass rods, and these were more dangerous to their wargame commander than to the toys on the board. These would also work well for French hussars with a head swap. GdeP |
