I refuse to accept this result.

I would call for a recount, but I bet the software recounts the results each time you load the page. So to "recount" you just reload the page.

My favourite is the Mosquito. My feeling is there is nothing truly outstanding about the Spitfire. Other aircraft of the time frame had similar performance. The Mosquito's abilities were quite amazing and in so many roles.

Would they had cut back on the 4 engined bombers and used Mosquitoes instead many lives might have been saved. I understand that by the time this became clear the momentum of production had reached an unstoppable level.

Having aircraft with more flexibility also might have allowed them to think the unthinkable and stop bombing cities in 1944-45? It was known at the time that it wasn't producing the hoped for results.

Anyway – let's not reopen that can of worms.
