Charles Joseph Minard was one such jewel; he was an engineer by profession and was recognised for his contribution in the field of cartography and information graphics.
Around 200 years ago the world changed forever as the Battle of Waterloo, in which Napoleon's army was defeated by the allied Prussians and British forces, took place in Waterloo, a town south of Brussels, in Belgium.
