Very cool. Some quick observations. 1. The camo scheme matches the sand and forest at event very well BUT … 2. If those are the correct German colors I need to repaint my Army! 3. Note how the Zimmerit has soaked up the paint so the color on the hull has a darker shade than the paint on metal skirts and gun barrel. They must've spend a fortune overhauling this beast so I'm kinda thinking they got the paint job right. Hmmm. Cheers! |

There were numerous variations on dark yellow ( dunkelgelb ). Meaning you have a fair bit of artistic licence to paint your models, if you want. That is at the light end of the late war variations though. Most of the late war chips and interpretations are a bit darker. Often with a slight green tinge. The dark green is what i'd expect. You could find a load of pictures if you search on chory panzer colors. Chory's book is the best reference jmo. I see there's a third edition. link |

I didn't watch the whole thing – did they ever turn the turret? |

No, apparently they never did. The whole thing seems to have been running the beast from the garage where it was restored into the museum itself, so no real need to put every in action. But…DAMN! that's one hulking great piece of war machine! TVAG |
