Anyone who played Catwoman. Eartha Kitt, Julie Newmar, Lee Merriweather… heck, throw in Yvonne Craig as the plucky red shirt ensign that doesn't get eaten by that episodes alien menace

Perris070717 Jul 2019 7:18 p.m. PST

Ann Margret. More than a match for Kirk.

Coelacanth17 Jul 2019 8:27 p.m. PST

Like Yvonne Craig, both Julie Newmar and Lee Merriweather did appear on Star Trek TOS.

Julie Newmar was in "Friday's Child".
Lee Merriweather appeared in "That Which Survives".

#von Schwartz

Forbidden Planet, to be sure, but I doubt Star Trek. Which episode were you thinking?

von Schwartz25 Jul 2019 4:45 p.m. PST

You're right eto, I checked her movies and TV appearances.
Do you remember the episode, it was kind of a pre-quell before Kirk took over the Enterprise? The Captain's name was Chris Pine. It involved a flashback to a planet that Captain Pine and the crew visited that was inhabited by a race of super intelligent little green guys with big pulsing heads and the ability to make people see and experience what ever they wished. They had one human girl that they rescued from a crash and nursed back to health. I thought Anne Francis was the actress playing the girl

HMS Exeter26 Jul 2019 6:21 a.m. PST

You're thinking of Susan Oliver. She had an extensive career on TV, including more than a few stints in the director's chair.

As a result of a terrifying commercial airline incident she swore off flying altogether. Coaxed back to it by a friend she got a private pilots license and went on to become a quite accomplished aviator.

She holds the record as only the 4th woman to single engine solo across the Atlantic.

Whaddya know?!?

HMS Exeter26 Jul 2019 6:24 a.m. PST

The episode you're thinking of was a mashup of the original pilot "The Cage" framed into a regular Star Trek 2 part episode "The Menagerie." The first was good in its' own right. The combination was superb.

Old Wolfman06 Aug 2019 6:52 a.m. PST

Patty McCormack,a younger Loretta Swit,Dihann Carroll(at that time on TV's "Julia"),Diana Ross…. and that was Capt. Pike,Christopher Pike.

Covert Walrus06 Aug 2019 9:59 p.m. PST

Anne-Margret.

She could have played a variety of characters, though she seemed to specialize in ones with mood swings of Olympian heights and Stygian depths.

Oh, and von Schwartz, you've mixed up the character of Captain Christopher PIKE with the actor Christopher PINE ( The latter who played Captain Kirk in the reboot movies ). :)

trynda170107 Aug 2019 10:33 a.m. PST

Some of my favourite choices like Elizabeth Montgomery and Anne Margaret have already been mentioned. But I suggest Maureen O'Hara, perhaps as a JAG officer or, better yet, an Admiral. :)

I'm old, I can't help it!! (smile)

Phyllis Diller – Harcourt Fenton Mudd's second wife.

Why, she wouldn't have been a bit of "tribble".

Angie Dickenson

custosarmorum Supporting Member of TMP07 Sep 2019 2:54 p.m. PST

Many good possibilities already mentioned, but my top three (in alphabetical order) are:

Barbara Eden, preferably as Mara, Kang's wife (the real-life couple had teamed up a couple of times on I dream of Jeannie)

Raquel Welch as one of the gladiators in the "Gamesters of Triskelion" (I would have bet my quatloos on her)

Lana Wood as a yeoman or the historian in "Space Seed" opposite Ricardo Montalban

I'll see your Phyllis Diller and raise you a Gladys Ormphby (Ruth Buzzi) and Carol Burnett's Charwoman. Harcourt Mudd wanted a hareem, didbn't he?

While you can't replace Nichelle Nichols, if she ever got to go on leave, they should have reached out to Lilly "Ernestine" Tomlin … or your could swap out Charlie X with Edith Ann.

Bernadette Peters is my favourite actress … so … TOS, the Musical? Maybe expand (rebootniks, are you listening?) The Way to Eden and add Goldie Hawn, too.

Old Wolfman16 Sep 2019 7:25 a.m. PST

Wonder if Phyllis would've still referred to Mudd as "Fang".

von Schwartz16 Sep 2019 6:21 p.m. PST

Angie Dickenson

Raaaooowrrrr!!!

Just saw her again in an old John Wayne Dean Martin western with….wait for it…Ricky Nelson. My embolism is kicking in again and I can't remember the title.

Old Wolfman17 Sep 2019 7:01 a.m. PST

Rio Bravo,I think.

SpuriousMilius05 Apr 2021 1:08 p.m. PST

I'd have loved to have seen Sophia Loren on OST, but IMO rather than a crew member she should have played a guest alien with goddess-like powers.
