Lets party with Cossacks | 16 Jul 2019 12:59 p.m. PST |
Presumably because they have finally embraced Kiewa-sceptisim and produced the far more plausible version of 1812-14 Russians. Lovely sculpts. |

No Tango, you were right. I was just asking what was new ie different about them? As Let's Party tells us It seems they have the 1809 shako with the 1811 tall thin plume…to quote Perrys |

This was the one option not available in the plastics box. The grenadier heads in 1809 shakos had only the large bush plume. I have one regiment in the infamous 'kiwer' but I think the rest will be in 1809 shakos which seems to have been more likely. |

I have the advantage over you. When the sun rises for me you are in "The Realms of Morpheus". But even through the day, I am now leisurely retired, you are still busy I suspect. This infamous Kiwer business. I believe. Bit like Santa Claus and French Imperial shako Rouleau pre 1815/6. You have to….
Has it ever been discussed here before? Like how long did it take to train a drummer wearing a Kiwer? (only kidding)

…But I need to tone down my colour settings! I'll admit to prefering the 'normal' shako over the coalscuttle version. While I'm waiting to get some mitre replacement heads, I can ignore the differences in the later 1807+ uniforms on the basis of cost saving efforts for my 'second' army. ~d |

and of course later ones 1809+ |
