It is not clear what happened to the Panamanian-flagged oil tanker – which is based in the United Arab Emirates – on Saturday night as it traveled through the Strait of Hormuz, but its apparent disappearance has raised concerns amid heightened tensions between Iran and several Western nations. Interesting. I wonder if that is the same tanker I read about today, that Iranian forces were "assisting"? Didn't have time to read the article, just the headline. |

Interesting indeed. Iran says the ship sent out a distress call. The Emirates and the US say it did not. But they acknowledge they have the ship, so it can't just disappear. I can't see why they'd want to interfere with this ship. It's not US or UK, not NATO, not Israeli, not valuable. If they were smuggling someone in or out they wouldn't have to tow the ship. We'll see. |
