I've finished up my latest additions to my ACW collection. Now sometimes I get it right, and sometimes i get wrong but these are good enough for me so here they are the 9th Kentucky in all their glory

picture

They are Dixon Miniatures just for a change, and they are still fantastic looking figures despite as someone pointed out the other day how old the range is. I've being collecting these figures from the first few humble releases

I've updated my blog so feel free to drop on over, take a look and feel free to comment.

The Orphan Brigade is one of my ACW favorites. Nicely done unit.

Great work bracken. The detail is amazing. The brass trigger guard on the drummers pistol is a detail most people would miss. And there are not two figures exactly alike. When I do groups of figures I always end up with doubles. So, how do you do that? Going back and looking I just noticed one of the flag bearers on his back. Nice touch. Have a good one. TIG

Your 9th Kentucky puts the 9th Kentucky I'm working on to shame. Kudos.

Thanks guys God the comments they are all very much appreciated.

Paulcollins, dixon minis do paint up nicely! In fact they almost seem to paint themselves 😊

Thanks Fred45231, yes they are! The first of a few 👍

Der Alte Fritz, thank you. More are definitely planned.

TIG, dixon minis help make it easier with the different head variations. I paint them in batches of the same pose, so I can alternate colours of uniforms and hair colours and such. I then lay out the full unit when done so I can alternate the poses, so they arnt blocked together in a similar pose. Hope that helps a bit and thank you very much my friend.

JCBJCB, thank you it's much appreciated.

Old Wolfman thank you also 👍

Thanks again guys, I may be taking a slight break from the civil war for a while! But I still have big plans for my collection so keep looking and I will keep posting 👍
