Greetings all Ive been asked to provide some more details about my new WWII wargame rules. Scale The rules are designed for use with 15-28mm scale miniatures. Games usually involve a reinforced platoon (30-40 men plus support and vehicles) Sequence of Play Each side is assigned a colour (rred or black). playing cards are then drawn from a deck to determine which player actives a team or vehicle. The Command Deck One unique feature of the rules is that each player has a hand of cards that form a "command deck" these can be used for various actions during the game but most importantly can be used to interrupt the normal sequence of play. Players must decide carefully when to use these cards as they are not replaced. Activation Each unit rolls a number of dice to determine how many actions they can carry out when activated. The scores required and the number of dice depends on the quality of the troops. Shooting Firefights are resolved using simple rules that also cover suppressive and concentrated fire. Additional Rules The rule book also includes scenarios and rules for engineers, field defences, close combat, artillery and air support. Wher eto Buy The rules are availiable from WargameVault wargamevault.com/product/277858 link |

Can the game be played with "Flames of War" bases that have 4-5 figures fixed on them? I have casualty caps/rings to use. How many quality levels are there for the troops? (green, average, elite, etc.) What would be defined as an action? (move, fire, spotting attempt, etc.) Is this a "buckets of dice" combat resolution system or are combat results tables with only a few dice used? When will this be the wargamevault deal of the day again? Thanks for the additional info. |

Can the game be played with "Flames of War" bases that have 4-5 figures fixed on them? I have casualty caps/rings to use. Yes, I use my Team Yankee bases for the modern version How many quality levels are there for the troops? (green, average, elite, etc.). I counted eight for the modern version. Basically, you have professionals, special forces and irregular, and 2 to 3 subcategories. What would be defined as an action? (move, fire, spotting attempt, etc.) yes, that's it. But you kind of role dice for the number of available actions according to your quality type Is this a "buckets of dice" combat resolution system or are combat results tables with only a few dice used? No table and only a few dice used. Think Bolt Action: you hit D+ (after modification) I find the game more fluid than bolt action and somehow with more flexibility in action, less "total control" and more interaction, same level of medium to low level complexity. Really not a complicated game. Like it very much and it gives me the type of controlled chaos I am looking for my Modern engagements. The WWII version is extremely similar. |

Do the rules include lists for HJ, Volksturm etc? It sounds like it would be good for a Demo game as the activation seems unpredictable. |

The German lists from the newest version of the rules include: Grenadiers (1939-1941) – Heer or Waffen SS Fallschirmjagers (1940-1943) Afrika Korps (1941-1943) Grenadiers (1944-1945) – Heer or Waffen SS Fallschirmjagers (1944-1945) So no HJ or Volkstrum. Just your basic formations. |

We have four games under our belts now and this game is wonderful. There is a lot of stress involved planning movements and needing the next card but not only needing the next card but rolling for a lot of activation's. The newest update fixed most of the OOB issues we had. It is a really fresh fun set of rules and it is very easy game to get into. |

Hi Crabbman, I grabbed a copy of the rules a couple of weeks ago on Wargames Vault and have noticed they've been updated but am not sure which is the latest file: When I view the product page on WG Vault it shows that I have purchased the product and gives me two possible files to download – which is the latest one? It seems that it should be the 'Update 1' file but who fewer pages? Fireteam_WWII_-_July_19 – 69 pages Fireteam_WWII_-_Update_1 – 52 pages Thanks |

Nice job on the reworked layout. Each nation starts on its own page now. Loving the diagrams too. Nice to see the Quick Reference added! My only suggestion at this point, is to add a "version" somewhere. If not something small on the cover, then on Page 2, right under the title line, and before the "By Rory Crabb" by-line By my count this is now v4 (third update after the initial release). I started with 1.47. |

That sounds cool. Would you say this game tries to do something similar as Combat Commander: Europe board game? |
