My son and I decided to play some old west shoot ‘em up games. I have a nice western town and rules (fistful of lead). Now, I need some minis.

Any suggestions on an economic way to start? Good mix of figures?

Anyone looking to downsize their collection for a reasonable price?

Thanks for any ideas and help.

I would look at the prepainted mini sets by EM4

I have both sets and they are actually nicely painted. I know one set says sold out, but when I have enquirered about other figures on the site that said unavailable I received a response that indicated that they cast their own so to go ahead and order. I don't know if that goes for the painted stuff too, but it never hurts to ask.

Are you looking for small 25s? If so shoot me an E-mail, I have some that I'd be willing to part with. Note these are true 25s not "heroic". RNGAMER@ATT.NET

If you want cheap, try the plastic figures at the toy store/dollar store, but they'll be bigger than 25mm.

If you want to paint your own, check out Knuckleduster. The best Old West figures on the market today, bar none.

Good luck with your new project!

These guys are having a sale on Knuckleduster…

auction

Old Glory is a good "volume" choice.

I have four packs of the OOP western bandits by Sgt Majors Miniatures hiding in a box here. Will sell them to you at 50% off list if interested. You can reach me at wargaming@aol.com.

Knuckleduster beats all the others by a mile. And for some very realistic gunfights you might like my rules Americas Olde West. Enjoy!

wow – thank you everyone for the suggestions. I have sent out emails to those looking to sell.

If things work out right – looks like I could actually be putting a shoot out on at a con in Los Angeles over Labor Day.

Thanks again everyone,
Stan
