When I awoke this morning I thought I must have dreamed this, so I rechecked the Mexican Adventure list in the recently-purchased copy of 'Rebels and Patriots' I was reading last night and no…there it was, word for word:

'… an Egyptian Auxiliary Corps of about 1,000 soldiers – including 450 camel cavalry, 13 cannon elephants, 29 Coptic knights, and 17 war hounds!'

Many actual characters and events of the French Intervention read like fiction anyway. It can be pretty hard to tell what was real, sometimes.

No crappy Jose Cuervo, please! Tequila shooters are what the Mexicans export to the stupid gringos because nobody in Mexico will actually drink the stuff!
