In Glasgow, 80+ players played Waterloo with 22,000 figures to break the world record. That wasn't the only big game being played that weekend. Indeed, some LOGW members were involved with the Waterloo game. But the LOGW did a game nonetheless. 12 players, 12,000 figures. Some pics here: link |

Spectacular! What rules were used in both games? |

Elsewhere I read that Black Powder 2 was used in the Glasgow extravaganza. |

Has anyone heard who won the Glasgow Waterloo, and how the battle went? First I heard it was coming, then I heard it had happened, but I never found out whether Bonaparte was able to extend the Napoleonic wars. |

As far as I know the Allies won, perhaps narrowly, I won't see any of the organisers until Claymore in August. I do know that Napoleon was almost captured near the end of the game but a cavalry unit which could have caught him failed to charge. Some info here: YouTube link |

The rules used for Dresden were the LOGW Napoleonic house rules by Kevin Calder – largely based on his ACW rules Bonnie Blue Flag. They work very well for big battles. On our table, a complete turn (both sides going in a U-go-I-go) was completed about every 20 minutes. The Waterloo game was played using Black Powder, probably because they are so widely used. 80 players require something 'universal', I guess. |

Olicana, Where can one get a hold of those house rules? |

You would have to get in touch with Kevin Calder. |

Warlord Games were one of the main sponsors and were also giving copies of Black powder 1 away to any kiddies visiting. |
