I'm looking for a 28mm French General (or high ranking officer like a Colonel) figure in both mounted and dismounted versions. Or…a general on foot and maybe I can match it to some other company's mounted version. No luck with Warlord, Perry, Front Rank or Brigade. I guess Generals never left their horse except to talk to Napoleon (Perry FN1). Thanks |

link This site still sells the old Stadden and Willies 30mm ranges, and I used this figure, slightly altered, for a French dismounted General de Division. I think it was made in the 1960's to represent Cambronne at Waterloo. These figures do not look right in these pictures. Much better in real life. Earlier there is a picture of a Marshall touching his bicorn, which I use as my mythical Corps Commander, mounted on the Stadden rearing horse – intended for the Mameluk figures. GdeP |

Gringos40 do the best known characters, foot and mounted eg Murat. Some very good and relatively obscure senior officer personalities foot only. Worth a look. But you want the same character both foot and mounted. Colonels, Generals of Brigade/Division of Infantry or Cavalry I would have thought easy enough… |

As Huscarle has said, the Perry's do a whole set of dismounted generals and staff which can be matched with a myriad of mounted models. Twin them with Brigade Model's dismounted French dragoon horse-holders and you can have the whole staff on foot. |

the perry's have a most extensive range of senior officers of all kinds, mounted and dismounted. There is also the foundry pack of napoleon and staff (based on Borodino) twith generals:Marshals on foot that match well with some of their mounted generals. plenty to choose from. |
