We did this game yesterday. It was a loyalist attack on a traitor held spaceport, but it was a trap, so the traitor player got to spring a surprise on the loyalist.

The tenacity of the traitors defense actually worked against them. The loyalists were prevented from getting too close to the starport so when it came time to retreat, they were already near the edges where they needed to be.

This shows the initial deployment of the traitors. They were using the buildings in the west part of the city to shield them against a loyalist advance on that side and putting their big guns facing every other direction.

picture

The Warhounds provided a mobile strike force to respond to any attack that came from the west.

As it turns out the Loyalists decided to deploy their whole force from the west.

So the Warhounds would have their work cut out for them in the first couple of turns while the Warlords turned to face the enemy and get in range and the knights moved up under cover of the buildings.

picture

The Traitor reaver took the blunt of the initial salvo from the loyalists. His shields collapsed right away.

picture

The Warhound took some damage just moving to his aid.

Fortunately the Warlord supporting them annihilated most of the knightly threat coming their way in one round of Sunfury Plasma Annihilator destruction.

Some of the knights did get to the traitor titans, but they were quickly met and matched by the House Malinax knights.

picture

Meanwhile other Malinxers went on the offensive and took the fight to one of the loyalist reavers.

picture

The Warhound and Reaver on the Traitor Southern flank were the first and only traitor titans to fall.

picture

After damage inflicted by the knights, one of the Loylist reavers fell easily to the twin plasma blastguns of the remaining traitor warhound.

picture

By the end three of four loyalist Reavers were destroyed, but the fourth, and the loyalist Warlord escaped, the Warlord almost unharmed. The loyalist knights were all wiped out.

The Traitors had lost their reaver and their Warhound and two knights, one of those to their own volcano cannon, until the last turn of the game the only damage the traitor volcano cannons had managed to inflict.
