Given the popularity of the Waterloo map, I decided to post a few more high-resolution maps at my website. The newest one to get the treatment is Aspern-Essling. I took some feedback and added a ground-scale to this map so that anyone printing if off can make sure that the final product conforms to their rules and basing system. The file is fairly large (over 5MB) and is detailed enough to print up at least at poster size, and potentially larger.
The specific idea behind these maps is that you can print them off, put them into a poster frame under plexiglas, and maneuver your troops around over top of them. By doing so, you can use markers to annotate the plexiglas as needed, plus protect the map itself. Anyways, check it out and I hope you enjoy it! |

That game looked like fun. I thought the figs were 28s for a second; everything over 3mm looks gigantic to me. I did Wagram on a map that I made a few years ago. It was one of the most . . . original ideas I ever came up with? Immortalized at my blog: link |

Your Wagram layout is cool! How many times have you played it? Chris |

I convinced my roommate at the time to play it; we got a few turns of FPGA in and then he had somewhere to be so I finished it up myself. It didn't bother taking any pictures. It was so small I had to use a roster, which was a bit annoying, frankly. Although rosters are good for some things, they can be annoying for others. I only actually played it that one time; that was from the early days of Forward March Studios and I was spending most of my free time on that. I still have the entire set of units, bagged up by corps and stored in a pen-case. Wagram in a pen-case! I think I chucked the map when I made my last move. It wasn't all that great, frankly. I'm working on some rules that require me to paint some maps (which I'll then photograph and supply with the game when the time comes). I've improved a lot at water colors since I made the Wagram map, so I think my next ones will be better. |
