Which 20mm WW2 US figure range depicts the troops in uniform and gear closest to that used in Korea by units other than marines; e.g. double-buckle boots and M43 jackets?

At this point I'm looking at using Liberation Communists (despite the lack of grenadiers), so ideally the US figures should match their chunky sculpting style.

Would these work?

Imex makes, 1/72 North Koreans, Chinese, ROK and US troops. They are pretty nice and inexpensive. They also have a large box set available too.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions gentlemen, but…

Maha – the boots on those figures are too high; virtually the same length as the early WW2 gaiters – besides which, the figures are too expensive: twice the price of Liberation Miniatures… and certainly not twice the quality.

Despite a strong personal aversion I did consider 1/72 plastics John, but there are the usual problems of limited useful poses, too many silly poses, silly equipment choices, and essential types not being available – which is why I've decided in favour of 20mm metal.

If I did WW2 I'd want some dudes suitable for Remagan (my favorite WW2 movie) and I agree with Henry, them battlefield guys have very high boots on some sculpts.

I love the late war uniform, it's much more utilitarian and combat ready. The earlier US uniforms are kind of goofy looking imo.

Once painted and based on pennies you can't tell the difference between metal and plastic figures at that scale.

wmyers, I would disagree. the sculpting style of a plastic figure will, most of the time, give the game away…

WarTime Miniatures does late WWII US in M43. They may suit.

What about the Britannia US in greatcoats?

Thanks Mat, who knew there was a source of these so close to home.
