I just finished reading "Indianapolis" by Lynn Vincent and Sara Vladic.

I never knew much about this ship other than the scene in the movie Jaws where Quint talks about his tatoo.

It's a great read. What this crew went through is beyond horrific especially considering the unique circumstances around the mission to deliver the bomb and then the failures to keep track of the ship afterwards.

A hearty thank you and well done to this intrepid crew and those sailors and airmen who went above and beyond to rescue them once found. Also a salute to the last skipper of the SSN Indianapolis for taking care of his shipmates even though they served over 50 years apart.
